Light Dependent Methods:
Direct Bio- Photolysis

This process uses photo-system 1 and 2 to convert light energy into chemical energy. The light that is absorbed by photo- system 1 causes the electrons to move through the cyclic cycle, making ATP. The light energy that is absorbed from photo-system 2 produces electrons which go move to ferredoxin. The electrons taken by hydrogenase from ferredoxin are then used to produce H2.
Indirect Bio- Photolysis
Occurs in two stages:
Stage 1: Like the process that occurs in direct photolysis, however the electrons go to the ferredoxin and then to the cell.
Stage 2: Fermentation takes place which makes two electrons, when they go through hydrogenase to become H2.
